07-05-2012    Super League Playoffs Round: 2
Atromitos Athens 1 - 1 PAOK Thessaloniki

PAOK couldn't capitalize on Panathinaikos's loss after only drawing 1-1 to Atromitos in Athens and are in 2nd place in the Playoffs.
Atromitos had the first chance on goals when a long range effort from Ingelisas sailed over the crossbar in the 10th minute. From a counter attack in the 28th minute PAOK took the lead when a a pass from Lazar found Salpiggidis who beat his marker in Thomas and scored pass Atromitos goalkeeper in Itanz to give PAOK a 1-0 lead. In the 2nd half PAOK tried to score a 2nd goal and almost succeeded in the 49th minute when a low cross from Athanasiadis found Lazar who's shot just cleared the crossbar. In the 67th minute a lapse in concentration in the PAOK defence allowed Atromitos to score an equalising goal when former PAOK player Anastasakos found Mitroglou who beat the offside trap and scored with a shot inside the penalty area. In the end a 1-1 draw and a disappointing result considering Panathinaikos lost. Now PAOK must take the 3 points on Thursday if they want to finish on top of this season's playoffs.

PAOK COACH LASLO BOLONI PRESS CONFERENCE: This was a typical end of the season match. I think both teams looked tired from today's match and the weather also played a part. Under these conditions it's difficult to play attractive football. Our organization today was good. In the 2nd half we were to focused in keeping the 1-0 lead instead going for a 2nd goal. We now have to look forward to our next match. If we were more careful we could have taken the 3 points today even though we didn't play the best football.

ETTO: This was a good and difficult game under difficult conditions. We came away with a point from today's match and now we look forward to our next match against Panathinaikos were we must win.

BRUNO CIRILLO: I am very happy for my team today. We came here and played a good match. This match wasn't easy and our mentality today was fantastic.
