02-02-2010    Kypello Ellados Greek Cup 6th Round
Pas Giannina 4 - 0 PAOK Thessaloniki

PAOK have been eliminated of this year's Greek Cup after going down by a heavy score of 4-0 against Giannina in a stadium that looked more like a cow paddock rather than a football pitch.
This game was lost before the match when PAOK supporters were not allowed to travel by the Greek police. As for the game PAOK got of to a bad start when Giannina took the lead in the 7th minute when a low cross from Kansaferis found Dimbala who's shot went pass Chalkias into the back of the net. In the 24th minute things went from bad to worse for PAOK as Giannina went 2-0 ahead when from a free kick taken by Kanakoudis poor marking at the back for PAOK allowed Koussas to score with a header from the back post. In the 28th minute the first attack from PAOK and they were unlucky not to score as Papazoglou's header hit the post from a Fotakis long ball. In t he 43rd minute Giannina went 3-0 in front when a solo run from Dimbala from the right and his cross was turn into his own net by Sznaucner.
In the second half PAOK needed goals and Edinho and Muslimovic came on to strengthen the attack for PAOK. PAOK had majority of the possession but couldn't capitalise. The game was put beyond doubt when in the 81st minute Tzanis pass found Dimbala who's shot from inside the penalty area ended up in the roof of the net to give Giannina a 4-0 victory. This was a poor performance by PAOK but questions must be answered by the Greek Football Federation in why PAOK supporters were refused tickets for this match and why PAOK had to play it's 3rd cup match in a row away from home and other teams such as Panathinaikos get easy home ties. GREEK FOOTBALL AT IT''S BEST.

PAOK COACH FERNANDO SANTOS PRESS CONFERENCE: The home team played well and won this match fair and square. We were very poor on our behalf. We conceded 2 easy goals. We had big problems in the first half. After the 3rd goal the game was all over. In the 2nd half we tried to come back but Giannina were very well organised.
