PAOK Thessaloniki 3 - 0 Panthrakikos

Despite not playing the best football PAOK came out 3-0 victors against now relegated Panthrakikos.
In the first 20 minutes of the match PAOK couldn't string passes together and Panthrakikos were allowed space and were allowed to control the match. Fortunately for PAOK no danger was created and in the 24th minute there was relief when PAOK took the lead when Ivic flicked on a Vitolo free kick and from the goaline Muslimovic's effort was saved by Rokka and from the rebound Malezas scored with a shot on the turn. In the 31st minute the best passage of play of the match but unfortunately the ball didn't go in the back of the net. A good move by Muslimovic and Ivic who found an unmarked Edihno who with only keeper to beat sent his shot wide of the target. In the 42nd minute PAOK went 2-0 ahead when Rokka missed a Sznaucner cross and the ball fell to Sorlen who scored into the empty net. That was the ball game before half time.
In the 2nd half not much was created in the first 25 minutes as the game was a very slow tempo. In the 72nd minute PAOK did create the first chance when Muslimovic put Ivic through on goals he rounded the keeper and passed to Edihno and his shot from a good position was blocked by the Panthrakikos defenders. In the 76th minute a lapse in concentration in the PAOK defence allowed Panthrakikos to create their first chance of the match when Papoulis cut in from the left and his shot was saved by Chalkias and from the rebound Belleck's shot from close range was also well saved by Chalkias. In the 79th minute PAOK made the score 3-0 when Sorlen found Lino who scored with a left footed shot in the bottom corner of the net. Despite not playing good football PAOK came away with an easy win in the end and now the derbies with Aris and AEK in the next two weeks will decide how far they will go in the championship.

PAOK COACH FERNANDO SANTOS PRESS CONFERENCE: The end result was fair one based on the chances created. However this was not one of our best performances as we were below our best today. We have to analyse what we can improve our game from today's performance. What I didn't like was the way we started the match compared to other games. The most important thing is we came away with the victory.
