Iraklis Thessalonki 1 - 1 PAOK Thessaloniki

After 8 games without conceding a goal and six straight wins PAOK's run has come to an end after dropping 2 valuable points after drawing 1-1 against lowly Iraklis at Kaftantzoglio Stadium.
As expected PAOK was dominating the first half and in the 10th minute of the match created the first chance when Edihno shot was well held by Fernandez. In the 19th minute another chance missed when a Vierihna through ball put Ivic through but his shot was saved by his feet by Fernandez. In the 36th minute PAOK took the lead when a pass from Ivic found Muslimovic who lobbed the ball over Fernandez into the back of the net. Everything was looking rosy for PAOK until the stroke of half time when a moment of madness by Vitolo who handled the ball unnecessary and was sent off for his 2nd yellow card of the match.
In the second half PAOK had a great chance to score when a cross by Vierihna was just out of the reach of Muslimovic. In the 55th minute Iraklis scored an equalising goal and soft goal at that. A low cross from Yiannoulis was missed by Malezas and Yiantsis scored from close range. This was PAOK's first goal conceded in the league in 8 matches. Despite playing with 10 men PAOK were unlucky not to score when a thunderbolt by Arabatzis from a long way out rattled the crossbar and the danger was cleared. In the next minute a long range effort by Ivic was well held by Fernandez. In the 84th minute Pablo Garcia tried to catch Ferandez off guard and tried to chip him from long way out but he got back and kept out the opportunity. In the 86th minute a chance by Iraklis when Epstein's effort hit the post. In the 89th minute another chance by Iraklis when a header from Papazacharias was cleared off the line by Malezas. In the end a dissapointing result by PAOK and the Kaftantzoglio hoodoo continues. If only Vitolo had not received a red card the result would have been different.

PAOK COACH FERNANDO SANTOS PRESS CONFERENCE: It's a shame we only came away with one point today. We were by far the best team in the first half and I can't remember Iraklis creating a chance on goal. From then on due to a kids error we were down to ten men and cost us the match.
In the second half due to us playing with 10 men the game was more even as both teams created chances. We conceded a goal which we rarely concede. In the end we deserved the victory as we were the better of the two sides.
