12-01-2005    Kypello Ellados Round 2 2nd Leg
Aigaleo Athens 2 - 0 PAOK Thessaloniki

After the first leg had finished 0-0 PAOK was knocked out of this season's Greek Cup after losing to Aigaleo by 2-0 on the night and on aggregate after playing uninspiring and pathetic football.
Both sides were determined to play attacking football to score that vital goal however the first half was dull and boring with only two goal scoring opportunities created one for each side through Futsini in the 18th minute and Skopeletis for Aigaleo in the 34th minute but their shots couldn't find its target.
In the second half nothing changed for PAOK despite Lampros Vangelis coming on as a substitute to provide a more attacking display for PAOK to score that vital goal. That goal didn't come as nothing was going right for PAOK. This game was looking like going into extra time until the 76th minute when Aigaleo took the lead when Makris scored with a header from a cross from Nikolopoulos after PAOK's defence was caught out. Everything looked lost for PAOK and Rolf Fringer made a final substitution Louka in place of Andralas who had a nightmare of a game but still nothing was changing. In the 84th minute the game was all over when the PAOK’s defence was caught out once again and Barkoglou scored from close range to make the final score 2-0 in favour of Aigaleo in a very average performance for PAOK. When the players arrived at Thessaloniki airport 30 fans were waiting for them which they jeered and booed the players for unsatisfactory performance and the elimination from the Greek Cup. This Saturday PAOK is facing Aigaleo once again for the Greek League in the same venue. Surely improvement must be made for the revenge match.
